IPL Auction Top 20 Buys

With IPL auction 2018 getting over; it is time to see the top buys by the franchise.

It was a very interesting affair, which gave us many reasons to get surprised. Totally, 169 players were sold in the auction. Among them 113 were Indians and 56 were overseas players.

Now let’s see the Top 20 Buys in this year’s IPL auction.

1. Ben Stokes

This all-rounder from England was one of the most valuable players in the IPL 2018 auction. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals at a staggering INR 12.5 crore on Day 1 of the auction.

2. Jaydev Unadkat

He became the most expensive player from India at the IPL auction after Rajasthan Royals bought him for INR 11.5 crore. The base price was set at INR 1.5 crore but three teams including CSK, KXIP and RR were fighting to get his services.

3. Manish Pandey

He was sold for INR 11 crore to Hyderabad after an intense war between Sunrisers Hyderabad and KXIP. His base price was only INR 1 crore with KKR deciding not to exercise the RTM option.

4. KL Rahul

KL Rahul was at the centre of a tussle between KXI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad, which is the main reason for his price inflation from just a base price of INR 50 lakh to a whopping INR 11 crore. He was bought by KXI Punjab on day 1.

5. Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn was bought for INR 9.6 crore by KKR in the IPL 2018 auction. He represented KKR in the last edition of IPL as well.

6. Mitchell Starc

This Australian bowler was snapped up by KKR for a whopping INR 9.4 crore, after a tough fight between KKR KXI Punjab.

7. Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell eventually went to Delhi Daredevils for INR 9 crore. Even SRH and RR were looking to take his services for IPL 2018 but at the end, Delhi won this bidding war.

8. Rashid Khan Arman

This 19-year old Afghanistan leg-spinner was clinched by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 9 crore after exercising RTM option as it was KXI Punjab who won the bidding for Rashid Khan.

9. Krunal Pandya

Krunal commanded the second highest price among the Indians in the IPL 2018 auction. Mumbai Indians exercised the RTM option to clinch his services for INR 8.8 crore after RCB won the bid.

10. Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals spent a huge sum of INR 8 crore to scoop him up from the heavy competition from many teams. He was sold at 8 times his base price of INR 1 crore.

11. Kedhar Jadhav

He was bought by the yellow brigade- CSK for a staggering INR 7.8 crore on the opening day of the auction. A bidding war between CSK, SRH and RR quickly escalated his price.

12. Ravichandran Ashwin

After representing CSK since the beginning, R Ashwin will play for KXI Punjab in IPL 2018 edition, after the franchise bought him at INR  7.6 crore

13. Chris Woakes

The all-rounder from England was sold to RCB for INR 7.4 crore. He was a part of KKR team in the past editions.

14. Dinesh Karthik

The wicketkeeper-batsman will be seen playing for KKR after they bought him for INR 7.4 crore. He had a good base price of INR 2 crore after playing for 5 other IPL teams in the past.

15. Jofra Archer

Rajasthan Royals had another big buy after snapping up Jofra Archer for INR 7.2 crore. He played Big Bash League in 2018, represents West Indies at the U-19 level and plays in County Cricket for Sussex.

16. Andrew Tye

He was bought by Kings XI Punjab for INR 7.2 crore, after winning the bidding war from CSK on day 2 of the auction. He was a part of Gujarat Lions in the past IPL edition.

17. Dwayne Bravo

He was picked up by CSK for INR 6.4 crore after exercising RTM option in the IPL 2018 auction.

18. K Gowtham

Rajasthan Royals snapped up K Gowtham for a staggering INR 6.2 crores after a tough bidding war from few teams.

19. Yuzvendra Chahal

After representing Mumbai Indians team in the past, he was bagged by RCB for INR 6 crore after they exercised RTM option.

20. Kuldeep Yadav

KKR has a big buy again, in the form of Kuldeep Yadav. They exercised RTM option to snap up Yadav for INR 5.8 crore.

These are the top 20 Buys in the IPL 2018 Auction. After seeing some surprises in the 2018 Auction, we are sure this edition will be very entertaining for the viewers.
